Jan De Nul Dredging Limited has been awarded a contract by Nakheel, a Dubai-based company, for the marine works on Palm Jebel Ali. The contract is valued at $220.54 million (AED 810 million).
The company will be responsible for excavation, land reclamation, beach profiling, and sand placement, all of which will directly contribute to the construction of villas across all fronds, as a member of the renowned international Jan De Nul Group.

The entire purview of marine works at Palm Jebel Ali is anticipated to be completed by Jan De Nul Dredging within just over two years, with mobilization activities currently underway. The initial eight fronds of the project will be the primary focus, as they are expected to be site-ready by the first quarter (Q1) of 2025. This is in anticipation of the commencement of civil works and villa infrastructure.
The construction of a new public access road has commenced, which will provide access from Sheikh Zayed Road and will also include improvements to the roadway and illumination from the mainland to Palm Jebel Ali.
